ABOUT THE ROLE 

We’re adding superior talent to our team, and we are currently looking for an Accounting Assistant to support our Finance Manager and extended team. As our Accounting Assistant you will be a part of the accounting department, operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

This position is ideal for a highly-organised, detail-oriented professional who has great communication skills and can interface effectively with busy senior executives. In this role you will directly impact the efficient running of the company, and contribute to the information essential to fuel the strategic decision-making process of the agency.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing invoices and estimates to support client billing
  • Accounts receivable and payables management as assigned
  • Contribute to the preparation of select financial statements (e.g. cash flow statements, profit and loss)
  • Prepare client estimates and invoices
  • Build a deep understanding of advertising agency finances, key metrics and ratios based on available resources
  • Complete administrative requests of external accounting and payroll partners
  • Using various software, especially QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and, Outlook
  • Manage operating cash / disbursements as needed
  • Assist in ALL key accounting functions
    About you / Your Key Attributes:

    Along with drive for results, inventiveness, agility, empathy and straightforwardness, your previous experience and attributes will include:

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role. Preference given to individuals with experience in agency or service-based organisations
    • Must be ACCA certified
    • Experience working in Quickbooks accounting software required
    • Effective time management skills and the ability to organise a daily workload by priorities.
    • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
    • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
    • Team player attitude with ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
    • Robust communications skills – verbal and written.
    • A desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
